*CARRY YOUR CHILDREN ALONG.*

                                       

 
During my  yearly teen outreach a few weeks ago, a dear teen mentor shared her observation. How this generation's teenagers are chilly towards the things of God How their parents had to coerce them into praying and attending teen gatherings It's more like they don't want to be associated with spirituality. They don't want to keep God in their heads. Then what happens to their children's generation?
 
As I've been meditating on the scriptures this week, I've noticed that whenever the Lord offers directions to the Israelites, he emphasizes that they should bring their children with them.
They should celebrate with their children in tow, since this allows them to learn and grasp the Lord's way.
 
I couldn't figure out why he wanted them to do this until I read what happened after the judges died. The generation after that had no knowledge of the Lord or what he had done for Israel.
They did evil in the eyes of the Lord, forsaking the Lord, the God of their fathers, to worship other gods, provoking the Lord's wrath.
 
What were your children doing while you were serving the Lord? Many times, parents are going to service and believe that their children are too small or tired to come along.
They should be allowed to sleep. At other times, they are given phones to watch cartoons while service is ongoing.
 
Even at home, we make sure they read their academic literature, but the Bible is optional; when we observe our spiritual exercises, we believe they are too young to participate, and yet we grumble about their way of life.
 If we do not want to see another generation raised with a reprobate mind that does not acknowledge God in their ways, we must act now. Whatever our children become is a mirror of who we are.
 
You have the option of starting afresh. Carry them along with you.
