I know a man who, while I was in primary school, would rather eat out than feed his family. If you stumbled on him while eating at his place of work, you would marvel.
How do I know a lot of the times his children come to our home to ask for food? When it becomes a constant occurrence, we begin to ask questions.
According to the children, if he manages to buy one paint of beans at home until they finish eating them, no other forms of raw food will come to that house. Even if it's garri or rice, until it finishes, no other food comes home.
Where is the mother you asked? She's not empowered.
Seeking or concentrating on one's own advantage, pleasure, or well-being without regard for others is what is known as selfishness.
You see, marriage requires selflessness. It's a calling to serve another person. Seeking the good of the other.
Marriage should better you, not destroy you. That's why the Bible says two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor.
Selfishness is one of the main causes of domestic violence. Everything must revolve around you in your home.
No one should check on you or call you to order. You want to do as you please. Whoever you perceived as a threat, you brutalized.
Some women would rather party than care for their homes. The money given to them to take care of the house has been used to buy Aso Ebi.
Some will use their children's school fees to stock their businesses. Their husbands dare not say a word; all hell will be let loose in that home.
You're looking elegant while your future is dying right before you.
Rather than take care of your family, you worship yourself. That's the height of wickedness and selfishness.
This has led a lot of young people into all forms of living, as they do everything to survive.
But you know what? You can change the narrative.
