*JACOB CROSSED HIS HANDS*

*By Pastor E O Gabriel  20 September 2023*

SCRIPTURE: And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the Younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn - *Genesis 48:14*

Joseph brought his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim to Jacob his father, for a father's blessing. Jacob couldn't see well due to his old age, therefore, Joseph Positioned the first born Manasseh at his right hand, while Ephraim the second born was Positioned at his left.

When Jacob wanted to bless them he crossed his hands so that the right hand will be on the younger while the left hand will be on the older. Joseph Protested thinking his father had made a mistake because he couldn't see well, but Jacob said I know what I am doing because the older shall serve the younger.

*This Biblical Story teaches us a lot about the Cross where Jesus was hung, bearing in mind that the old testament is a shadow of the new testament. Some of the lessons are:*

*(1)* The Cross is a Symbol of Blessing.

At the Cross, there is Divine Exchange.

Sickness is exchanged for health, sorrow for joy etc - *Isaiah 53:5*

*(2)* The Cross qualifies the Unqualified - *I Corinthians 15:9-10*

Through the Cross, Ephraim got the Blessing he was not qualified for.

*(3)* The Cross makes of no effect the circumstances of our birth - *Colosians 2:14, Galatians 3:13*

*Ephraim by reason of birth, was meant to serve his older brother forever, but the Cross removed the embargo.*

The Cross has the Power to make exceedingly wealthy the one born poor - *2 Corinthians 8:9*

*(4)* The Cross transforms Destinies.

*The Destiny of Ephraim was transformed - Moved from the bottom to the Top* - *Deuteronomy 28:13*

*(5)* The Cross opens the door to the fulfillment of Promises.

The Lord said, but many that be are first shall be last and the last shall be first - *Matthew 19:30*

Through the Cross, this was fulfilled in the lives of both Manasseh and Ephraim.

*(6)* The Cross Perishes the expectation of the wicked - *Proverbs 10:28*

*(7)* The Cross makes things New - *Isaiah 43:18-19*

*It was a new dawn for Ephraim.*

*The Cross of Jesus is foolishness to them that are not saved, but to Believers, it is the Power of God.*

*Prayer:*

Father, Please let the Power of the Cross bring about a Great Transformation of my Destiny.
